Closing down ALT.com one profile at a time…
I am really fortunate and humbled that I get emails from people who love FetLife and thank me for creating the site. Nothing feels better for someone like me who lives to grow software and communities.
This email in specific really made me feel good (they all do though):
Hey, just a note to say that I really enjoy this space. I actually deleted my profile on alt…. found enough good local people, and besides, alt is kind of… um …. creepy sometimes. Here I feel safer, I feel like the people are more on the level. I love the format… you can see what everyone is up to. I think it holds people to a slightly higher level of accountability. Being able to see threads of what others are writing has sparked some interesting conversations. It seems that there are alot of bloggers/writers on here, and that’s great. All in all I <3 fetlife. You are doing an amazing job, keep it up!!! –a.
LittleA even deleted her profile on ALT after joining FetLife. Wow… if that is not a compliment I do not know what is!

It IS so much safer than alt (2 out of 3 Doms I met from alt were.. worrying) and attracts the right kind of people. None of my fetish-community friends have alt profiles anymore, and most of us are on fetlife. It promotes a healthy and sane attitude to BDSM, and it’s exactly this kind of site that can work to break down the stigma against the practice in the wider community. Keep up the amazing work :-) ps- one great feature would be to have the option of pics other than profile able to be viewed/commented on by friends only.
I have to agree. On alt I met creepy people who were either posing and had no intention to meet - or turned out to be way too creepy to actually meet. Plus I got solicited by tons of people that didn’t need my need, profile desires or boundaries.
Fetlife is a “clean-well lighted” dark place - I like its upfront honest and the control it gives me over my information and who is on my list.
I closed out alt, and am glad to be on Fet life.
Just wanted to say, you just shut down one more on ALT. Great site .. kudos

I feel the same way about Alt.com. It was mostly creepy men and trashy men..(yuck) I like my kink with class thank you !
My Master took me off of Alt. He said i dont need that site anymore and i found before i met him so many players and users on that site. Fetlife to my Master is like Facebook is to me. i said i had to agree with him.
i agrre im on fetlife too now, healthy local scene, real easy meets, sensitive open minded organisers, nothing abusive or extreme on show.
i still have free profile on alt but wll delete it, 2 years ago i was silly enough to pay 3 months and to my dissapointment, all the contacts that seemed ideal local matches, either no reply or were completely paranoid demanding face pic and address before they would show any photo, another who replied then denied that in the next message and acted like i was the weird one- complete nonesense, so i realised site full of fantasists and people who wont meet or phone.
In fact i deleted year olds profile during 3mth silver membership 3 weeks early, and told them i wanted nothing to do with the site even though i could have messaged for another 6 weeks. i phoned which was hard to find so id be sure they couldnt have a drop more cash . since then i joined later just to watch webcam feeds but these now crap compared to other clip sites, and many alt webcams show a scammers email on a card later so its obvious ly infested and rotten to the core.
well done fetlife,,,,also fabswingers, and sdc are best paysite but overpriced imho. tagged is full of scmmer mail but gt flirt site, pof paranoid pit i left last year - not enough sexual info for liberated ppl? more a long term site for paranoids lol
alt has kids aand other gamey people there, and they are going to fetlife now. I was banned from alt for using words like ex this and ex that, but no abuse, if you use bad words there they will ban you now. but they have so many trolls there its is unbelievable, and they come in all shapes and sizes, women too are trolls they use and discard, so no relationships or ties, just play time, but anyone can go to a play room, and do bdsm, dont need alt or any other site for that matter, but if your looking for a long term relationship than one has to take things into consideration. Alt abuse department is in India as the rest of their customer service, they dont know american culture at all, and determine abuse by f words and ex’s, they are all over the map, just looking for suckers to pay, a big huge net to catch the most fishes, they have branches all over their sites are same but use different names, I need help to bring this site down for good, with or without your help
