Update To Groups: Edit Post, Moderation, View All Members and Design Tweaks by JohnBaku

I am a big fan of long titles, this way I don’t really have to say much more if I don’t want to… but I do.

I am putting all my energy into groups for the next week or two. Over the last day I have deployed the following improvements:

  • I tweaked the design of groups, I was not in love with my last design but then again I am never in love with any of my designs but this one I think is better. Constant improvement is the name of this story.
  • The person who starts a new discussion/thread can now edit their post if after they posted it they want to make changes.
  • Group moderators can now delete posts or comments if they feel they need to.
  • You can now view all the members of a group

    The groups are an awesome new feature & I for one have been enjoying posting & also moderating my own group. So major kudos from me, about the groups. :)

    I have a question for you. Kind of a devil’s advocate thing, considering possible future developments that might happen and all that.

    Would it be possible to be able to remove someone from a group, if you are the moderator?

    I don’t need this right this minute, but from the experience of running 3 vanilla websites out in the rest of the world, I’ve learned that sometimes you just need to remove someone when/if drama might arise. It’s just a part of any internet community. Yes, sometimes we have to get the big stick out. ;)

  4. Banning, removing and moderating groups even more will come in the future for sure. Since everyone in general has been very well behave I have not been pushing that feature but we will add it in the future :-).

    I was wondering if there was going to be the option within the group posts of being able to edit posts (other than the first one)

    Also, will it be possible to post pics in the embedded in the post (thumbnail size of course!)?

  6. Hey John, Is it possible to add a feature to Groups whereby the moderator can make the group private? I would like to start a group for our poly family, where we can leave messages for each other, thoughts etc, that can only be seen by those that we want to see them. Regards Linda
